In 2012, Andrea Frey, Elias Tsoutsaios and Janic Sarott came together to play one show at Rock ‘Oz Arènes, a well-known rock festival in the western part of Switzerland. After many gigs in and around Switzerland, the three published their first single ‘Jamie’ in June 2013. ‘Jamie’ reached #39 of Switzerland’s iTunes charts without any label support, but a little help from the band’s friends. Many swiss radio stations played the song extensively and some say, it can still be heard every now and then – more than seven years after its release.
In late 2014, bass player Valentin Bezzola joined the band after Tawnee released their first EP called ‘Lovers’ and came to play bigger shows such as Zermatt Unplugged and Grabenhalle St. Gallen. In January 2016, drummer Janic Sarott left the band to pursue a professional career as a classical percussionist. Fellow musician Florian Heiniger filled in and has played with the band since. In November 2018 the band released the ‘Paradise EP’. After almost eight years of ’Tawnee’ the debut album was announced in January 2020 with the presentation of the new single ‘Untied’.
“The best thing about Davos is how it balances being a tiny city with beautiful nature and a vibrant kind of mountain-hotspot with a lot going on. You can sleep with your windows open and all you’re going to hear is rivers flowing, birds chirping and the wind blowing. You can walk 15 minutes and be completely outside the city with almost no one around you.”

“Our favorite local bar is definitely La Onda. It’s a great, cozy place to have a couple of beers. They mostly play really nice rock music. If you ask nicely, you may even add a song or two to the playlist!” – Tawnee
“Definitely get a beer (Stübel) at La Onda !” – Sürmle
“Kaffee Klatsch near the hockey stadium is this cozy little café serving great cups of coffee, especially their flat white.” – Tawnee
“Best cup of coffee in town is at Kaffee Klatsch. I like to order the fresh pressed orange juice and a brioche bun.” – Thomas Caduff, Vibe Manager
“Lake Davos is amazing. Even in the hottest of summers, it’s very refreshing and crystal clear. If you’re an active person, a hike up to ‘Jöriseen’ is amongst the most beautiful things you can do. It’s at least a 4 hour hike, but you’ll get to see some of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Switzerland.” – Tawnee
“The best watering hole is Lake Davos. It’s amazing to take a walk around or refresh in the summer with a swim.” – Thomas Caduff, Vibe Manager
“All you need when in Davos is a solid pair of Skis or a proper pair of hiking boots with it. Best place to get equipped for both is Angerer. They’re good people who know their stuff.” – Tawnee
“For a city as tiny as Davos, the beer culture is off the charts! We have Davoser Craft Beer, a local beer brewed by a group of good guys. They’re both fantastic, tasty beers and you should always choose local beer over import.” – Tawnee
“There is a rift in the band – some of us like Monsteiner, others like Davoser Craft Beer!” – Sürmle
